Third Annual Sarah Lawrence College International Audio Fiction Awards Celebrated on Shakespeare’s Birthday at Players Club in New York City

The Sarah Lawrence College International Audio Fiction Award, aka The Sarahs, celebrates the best audio fiction currently made around the world. The Sarahs were co-founded by writing faculty member Ann Heppermann, a United States Artists Rockefeller Fellow and Peabody Award-winning audio fiction writer and producer, and Martin Johnson, a radio producer, journalist, sound designer, and critically acclaimed author.

Now in its third year, the Sarah Lawrence College International Audio Fiction Award ceremony took place on April 23 at the Players Club in New York City, sponsored by Audible, Panoply, PRX, KCRW, and Academic Federal Credit Union.

This year was the most international yet, with winners from Belgium, the UK, Canada, Croatia, and the US. In celebration of Shakespeare’s birthday, members of the Drunk Shakespeare Company took giddy and skillful liberties with the bard’s work, further enlivening a very joyous evening.
